He was born in Ridgeland, SC on March 9, 1940 to the late William DuPont, Sr. and Catherine Washington DuPont..He was a Retiree of Jasper County Public Works where he was a Heavy Equipment Operator; member, Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as Assistant Chairman of the Deacon Board; volunteer with Jasper Chamber of Commerce Coon Hunt where his specialty was finding lost hunters; he enjoyed singing, loved the outdoors and loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Mary Grant DuPont of Ridgeland, SC; three sons, Theodore DuPont, Michael (Jeanette) DuPont, both of Ridgeland, SC; Benjamin (Jacqueline) DuPont, Jr. of Charleston, SC; four daughters, Poinsetta Lee of Charleston, SC; Vanisa Mitchell of Ridgeland, SC; Sharon DuPont of Powder Springs, GA; Channon Williams of Stockbridge, GA; four brothers, William DuPont, Jr. of Pineland, SC; Charles (Dorothy) DuPont of Joshua Tree, CA; Roy (Melissa) DuPont of Ridgeland, SC; Earl DuPont of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Irene Brown of Savannah, GA; Estelle Burns of Ridgeland, SC; twenty three Grandchildren and nineteen Great Grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, March 19, 2012 Mount Carmel Baptist Center in Ridgeland, SC with burial in Partridge Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3:00 until 5:00 pm, Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC.
