Bennie Woodrow Branham, Jr., 75, peacefully passed away February 1, 2021 at his Bluffton, SC residence, surrounded by his devoted, loving wife and children.
Bennie was born September 16, 1945 in Charleston, SC. He served his country as a United States Marine before beginning his career as a superintendent for 40 years and owning and operating his own business. He took pride in his work, but there was no greater joy to him than being a devoted husband, a dad to five children that he loved as his own, and a grandfather.
He was an avid golfer and remained a fan of the sport for his entire life. He was a very loving husband, and a wonderful, hardworking man. He always had a smile on his face, a kind and pure soul, and was a very loyal friend to many. Bennie never met a stranger. Those that knew him loved him dearly and appreciated his words of wisdom. “Life is what you make it,” he would say. He will be missed by his wife, Michelle, children and grandchildren. We take comfort that he is once again embraced by his beloved mother and daughter in Heaven.
In addition to his wife, Michelle Branham, Bennie is survived by his sons, Corey Avery (Brittany) and Allen Crosby, III, both of Bluffton, Craig Avery (Valerie) and Allen Crosby, Jr., both of Walterboro; daughter, Courtney Crosby (Jose) of Islandton, SC; brother, Larry Branham (Ann) of Blythewood, SC; sisters, Anne Whitten (Ervin) of Swansea, SC and Joyce Woods (Bo) of Columbia, SC; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Branham.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St, Beaufort, SC. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family with arrangements.
