Bernice R. Call Slough

Bernice R. Call Slough, 88, of Bluffton died October 2, 2012 at Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville, SC.She was born on April 24, 1922 in Winfield, West Virginia the daughter of the late J. William and Nora Cristi Call.She was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone, New York Central Rail Road, Robbins and Myers Electrical Co., and Mercy Hospital of Springfield, Ohio. She was a Southern Baptist and was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Church of Ridgeland. She enjoyed keeping her home and working in her yard.She is survived by sons Paul L. Slough (Maria) of Bluffton, SC and Jack A. Slough (Jan) of Buford, GA; grandchildren Melynda Smith (Beau), Amelia Hughes (Howard), Ashley Slough, Katie Slough; and great-grandchildren Hannah Malphrus, Zach Malphrus, Stone Smith, Hailey Hughes, and Philip Hughes.A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Gospel Lighthouse Church, Ridgeland, SC. The family requests that in memorial donations be made to the Gospel Lighthouse Church, P.O. Box 1445, Ridgeland, SC 29936.
