Bertie Peacock Johnson

Bertie Peacock Johnson-Bluffton, SC- Bertie Peacock Johnson, 89, of Bluffton, South Carolina, and formerly of Savannah, Georgia, died Thursday morning, February 21, 2008, at the Canon Hospice in Gulfport, Mississippi. Born in Bulloch County, Georgia, she was the daughter of Clifford Anderson Peacock and Bessie Lanier Peacock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert (Bunny) Johnson. Surviving are her brother, Eugene Talmadge Peacock of Bullock County, Georgia; her sons Clifford I. Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia, Gerald C. Johnson of Blue Springs, Georgia and her daughter, Vickie Johnson Countryman, of Biloxi, Mississippi. She has nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She volunteered for hospice for over 20 years; she was a member of the Bluffton United Methodist Church; she was an active member of the Bluffton Garden Club, Meals on Wheels, Happy Faces and a long-time volunteer for Calhoun station.
