Betty Ruth Phillips Robertson, age 89, of Ridgeland, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Born on June 22, 1936, in Beaufort, South Carolina, Betty was the daughter of the late William Jacob Phillips and Mary (Mae) Ruth Phillips. A devoted member of Great Swamp Baptist Church, Betty’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She especially cherished the fellowship and friendship she found through her Women’s Group at church, where she shared her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith with others. She was also part of the Eastern Star, where she dedicated many years to the order.

Betty’s professional life was marked by dedication and integrity. She served as the manager of Gainer Telephone Construction for 10 years before beginning a long and successful career at Kinghorn Insurance Agency. Over her 35 years there as a broker and agent, she earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Upon retirement, Betty joyfully devoted her time to caring for her two great-granddaughters (Aubrey and Baylor), a role she cherished deeply.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Francis Robertson; her sister, Ann Phillips Barnes; and her brother, Charles Wescoat Phillips.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Jane Robertson Moody (late husband Bill Moody) and Judith Dianne Lawson (Clark); her brother, William Ray Phillips, Sr. (Eunice); sister-in-law, Cindy Phillips; four grandchildren, Nikki Lawson Davis (Bill), Brett Lawson (Brantley), Jaudon Moody, and Will Moody (Mindy); and six great-grandchildren, Hallie Faciszewski (Andrew), Aubrey, Baylor, Miller, Olivia, and Willow. Also surviving are nephews, Randy Phillips (Opie) of Ridgeland, SC and Clarence Barnes of Alabama; nieces, Susan De'Leon Rivas (Lee) of Beaufort, SC, and Sheila Barnes of Alabama.

Betty will be remembered for her boundless love for her family, her steadfast faith, and her gentle spirit. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
