Bill Mario Perri

Bill Mario Perri, age 92, a resident of Benton House of Bluffton and formerly of Indigo Pines of Hilton Head Island, SC and Fairhope/Point Clear, AL died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA. Mr. Perri was born on March 16, 1925 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Italian immigrants, Pasquale and Vincenzo Perri. At 17 ½ years old and during World War II he enlisted with the United States Navy. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. After his military tenure he worked with Lockheed Martin, but after several years decided to begin his own business as a custom woodworker. He was the proprietor of Perri Custom Cabinets and Furniture until he relocated to Alabama. While living in Alabama he revitalized historic homes until the age of 89 when his health forced him to retire to South Carolina to be closer to his family. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Italian American Club in Hilton Head, was an avid and talented woodworker, and enjoyed using a typewriter, being headlined in the Island Packet as the “Typewriter Man”. Mr. Perri was preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine “Dolly” Perri and his second wife, Annette Perri. He is survived by his children, Paula Perri Price (Jack Phillip Price), Bill Anthony Perri, and Michele Lucille Apramian (Dr. Glen Apramian); step-children, Gayle Kanzler Hohman (Greg Hohman), Pamela Kanzler Pakula (Scott Pakula), Richard Kanzler, and Michael Kanzler; sister, Connie Busco; niece, Marie Busco; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, and Jacqueline Perri, as well as Austin and Spenser Apramian; step-grandchildren, Alison Hohman St. Clair (Nicholas St. Clair), Brooke and Nicole Hohman, Brandon Pakula (Lindsey Lee Pakula), Kendal Pakula, and Madeleine Kanzler; and step-greatgrandchildren, Peyton and Caroline St. Clair. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the residence of his daughter, Paula in Hampton Hall, Bluffton, SC.
