Bill Perry, 75 of Sun City Hilton Head died peacefully at Select Specialty Hospital in Savannah, GA after fighting a long illness.Bill is survived by Lorah, his loving wife of 40 years; his sister, Dorothy (Dot) Hooks and her husband Marshall of Columbia; a niece, Judy Comer and her husband, Chip, and their sons Lee and Creighton of Rock Hill; Doug Hooks and his son Brandon of Charleston; Mike Hooks, and his wife, Sarah and their children, Ryan and Reagan of Chapin, SC. Bill is also survived by a daughter, Catherine.Bill proudly started his 20-year career as a United States Marine at Paris Island. His highest rank was Chief Warrant Office-4 and was a Vietnam War veteran. Bill made many wonderful life-long friends during his career. Bill was extremely proud to be a Marine.After serving his country, Bill earned his BS from Pepperdine University and his masters from the University of Southern California. He worked briefly for Hughes Aircraft.Bill and Lorah moved to Sun City in 2005 to be close to their family. He enjoyed being a member of the Cribbage Club, playing cards and sharing good food and conversation with close friends.A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1pm, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC.
