Bobbie Lee Grace, Lieutenant Colonel, Usaf (Retired)

Bobbie Lee Grace, Lieutenant Colonel, USAF (Retired), passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 and is once again soaring amongst the clouds. He was born on October 1, 1938 in Clinchburg, VA and graduated from Saltville High School in 1957. Bobbie aspired to spread his wings and was a member of the third graduating class of the United States Air Force Academy in 1961. He became a fighter pilot and served his country proudly for twenty years, including tours of duty in Vietnam, Thailand, and Yemen. He earned a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Auburn University in 1972. Upon retiring from the Air Force, Bobbie began a second career with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC) working in offices in Washington, DC, St. Louis, MO, Mesa, AZ, and Saudi Arabia. After retiring from MDC, Bobbie spent his time volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, golfing, and fishing on the South Carolina coast. He was passionate about helping those in need, social justice, and providing for his family. Bobbie is preceded in death by his parents Frank H. Grace Sr., Pauline Holley Grace, and his brother Frank H. Grace, Jr. He is survived by his wife Anne Sanders Grace and their children: Jessica Brim with her husband William Brim; Julie Grace with her husband Paul Bukowski; Jill Grace Rausch; and Jason Grace. His nine grandchildren were his pride and joy: Maggie and Rachel Brim; Kyra, Sophia, and Carter Bukowski; Anna and Avari Rausch; Evie and Logan Grace.
