Bobby Dean Johnson, 78, of Bluffton, SC passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from a motor vehicle accident.
Bobby was born on November 30, 1936 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He retired as a Master Sergeant in the United States Airforce, where he dedicated 21 years of service and proudly worked on the SR-71 project. He later worked for Boeing for almost 20 years.
Bobby was married to Patricia Marie Johnson on August 13, 1960; they were married 55 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Patty; his siblings, Lois and Ronnie; his three children, Cindy, Dana and Kurt; his grandchildren, Stacy, Jeff, Ally, Drew, Cameron, Jordan, Harmony and Rhythm; and his great-grandchildren, Tristen, Taylor, Morgan and Madison.
Bobby loved to play golf and enjoyed volunteering as a host at the annual RBC Classic Heritage Golf Tournament in Hilton Head, SC. He had a passion for singing with the barbershop group, New River Harmony, woodworking projects and gambling at the casino. He was a life-long lover of jazz. Bobby was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Kansas.
You could always count on him for telling a joke and giving a big, bright smile. He was a family man and took pleasure in spending time with his children and grandkids. He was a very devoted father and husband, who showed endless, infinite love to his wife, Patty.
