Bobby O'Neal Smith

Bobby O’Neal Smith, 79 of Grays, SC passed away on January 19, 2017 at his residence after an extended illness. Born on July 10, 1937 in Grays, SC, he was the son of late H. O’Neal Smith and Myrtis Perry Smith. Mr. Smith served as a magistrate for Jasper County for twenty-nine years. He retired as a car dealer after owning Smith’s Auto Sales Inc. for thirty-seven years. He was also an auctioneer and enjoyed raising cattle. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Margaret F. Smith of Grays, two daughters, Janet Carter and husband Brian of Barnwell and Ann Margaret Smith of Grays; grandson, Jason Lee Carter. He is also survived by three sisters Irene Woodard and Inez McMillan of Walterboro and Vera Malphrus of Grays. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 21, 2017 in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am at Beaver Dam Baptist Church until the hour of the service.
