Bonnie Lee Faas, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away August 8, 2025. Born in 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Walter and Helen Freeman, Bonnie grew up with strong roots in her community. She attended Wilkinsburg High School and later earned her degree in marketing from the University of Pittsburgh.
Bonnie applied her marketing skills with creativity and drive in her silk screening and embroidery business. Most recently, she worked in food and beverage for ten years at the Westin Hotel on Hilton Head Island, where she found great joy in her job, her coworkers, and the many patrons she delighted in talking with.
She was a longtime member of both Edgewood Country Club in Pittsburgh and Hampton Hall Golf Club in Bluffton, South Carolina. An avid sportswoman, Bonnie had a passion for racquetball and golf. She often joked that hole number four at Hampton Hall was her nemesis—until she conquered it with a hole-in-one.
Bonnie was married to the love of her life, Bob Faas, for over 59 years. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Her greatest joys were her two children, Erich and Kirsten, both of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Bonnie was the rock of her family—steadfast, loving, and deeply cherished.
She was known for her vibrant personality, her warmth, and her gift of conversation. Everyone who met Bonnie felt her presence immediately—she lit up every room she entered. She is survived by her devoted husband Bob, her children Erich and Kirsten, and her lifelong best friend of 70 years, Kathy Cypher.
Bonnie was a member of Church of the Cross in Bluffton, South Carolina. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Church of the Cross, Calhoun St., Bluffton.
Bonnie’s spirit, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
