Brian Stephen Mixson

Brian Stephen Mixson, 32 of Early Branch, SC passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center of Savannah, GA after a sudden illness.

Brian was born September 19, 1988 in Beaufort, SC to Ronald Stephen Mixson and Sherry Ann Simmons Mixson. He served as a firefighter and EMT for Jasper County Fire and Rescue for over 14 years. He was a southern Baptist and attended Pine Level Baptist Church in Grays, SC. Brian enjoyed mud-racing in his Ford F-150 Aftershock, playing softball, and loved doing anything that kept him outdoors.

Brian is survived by his mother, Sherry S. Mixson of Grays; father, Ronald S. Mixson (Vali) of Grays; fiancée, Jenny Miller of Grays; sisters, Jennifer Benton (Jason) of Grays, Lindsay Jones of Okatie, SC, and Meagan Williams (Jimmy) of Ridgeland, SC; maternal grandmother, Judy Simmons of Hampton, SC; paternal grandfather, Olin Mixson of Grays; maternal grandfather, Raymond Smith of Grays, maternal grandmother, Jeanette Mohn of Ridgeland; great-grandmother, Helen Tuten of Ridgeland; nieces, Ansley Benton, Adelynn Padgett, and Eleanor Davis; nephews, Marty Williams and Wylder Padgett; and several aunts and uncles. Brian was preceded in death by his grandmother, Louise Mixson and grandfather, Bernard E. Simmons.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Pine Level Baptist Church, 2009 Pine Level Church Rd., Grays. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm until the hour of the service at the church. Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery, Varnville, SC.
