Burt B Foster

Burt B. Foster Sr., 77, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at his home in Bluffton, SC. He was born April 19, 1931 in Manhattan, NY. He was the son o the Late Alburtus and Mae Smith Foster. He was a retired Captain of the New York City Fire Department and a member of Church of the Cross in Bluffton, SC. He was a US Air Force Veteran; a former member of St. James the Less Episcopal Church in Queens, NY where he was a member of the Vestry for 25 years; and a little league baseball coach for many years.He is survived by his wife, Welenia Foster of Bluffton, SC; one son, Burt B. (Martine) Foster, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; one stepson, Paris (Donna) Mason of Omaha, NE; one sister, Alberta Ashley of Orlando, FL; one sister in law, Evelyn Foster;and three grandchildren, Noah B. Foster, Camryn J. Foster, and Shelby Mason.He was preceded in death by a brother, Toussaint L. Foster.A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Church of the Cross, 110 Calhoun Street, Bluffton, SC.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Church of the Cross, P.O.
