Carl Columbus Nettles

Carl Columbus Nettles, age 85 and husband of Frieda Mae Morris Nettles passed away at Coastal Carolina Hospital, Hardeeville on July 10, 2018. Mr. Nettles was born in Warsaw, Georgia on March 2, 1933 to the late Charles E. Nettles and Viola L. Young Nettles. Mr. Nettles and his wife, Frieda moved from North Carolina to Hardeeville four years ago to retire close to Carl’s family. Before moving, Mr. Nettles and his wife were owners of Apex Garden and Lawn Care and Cape Cod Seafood Restaurant in North Carolina. They attended the First Baptist Church of Hardeeville. He was an avid NASCAR fan rooting for Bobby and Davey Allison and Jeff Gordon. He was a brick mason and enjoyed the outdoors. In addition to his wife; he is survived by his son, Roger Samuel Nettles and his wife, Connie of Knightdale, NC; his brothers, Leland Nettles and Randolph Nettles (Judy) all of Hardeeville, SC; his sisters, Verna Giliken of Hardeeville, SC and Irma Huggins (Dan) of Spartanburg, SC and his grandchildren, Kyle Nettles and Amanda Nettles. Carl’s Celebrate of Life will begin at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Hardeeville with a family and friends gathering and will continue at 11:00 am with a memorial service.
