Carol "Eddie" Edward Stanley Jr.

Carol Edward Stanley Jr., known to family and friends as Eddie, passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 68. He was born in Beaufort, SC on December 5, 1957 to Carol Edward Stanley, Sr. and Jean Connelly Stanley. He spent most of his years in the Ridgeland area and retired from teaching at Thomas Heyward Academy.

Eddie attended Clemson University and graduated from Morehead State University in Morehead, KY. The highlight of his teaching career at Thomas Heyward Academy was taking the 7th grade class on an annual trip to Washington, D.C. He wrote the Alma Mata for Thomas Heyward Academy. He was a Deacon at Ridgeland Baptist Church. He also did the ministry for the Ridgeland Nursing and Rehab Center for many years until Covid.

Eddie was a devoted Christian man and loved his family deeply. He enjoyed teaching, history, antiquing, real estate sales, taking care of his chickens and cheering on the Atlanta Braves, and the Clemson Tigers.

He is survived by his mother, Jean Stanley; his brother Ronald Stanley (Linda); his sister Donna Dittman (Brian); his niece, Kaysey Cochrane (Steven); his nephew, Bradley Stanley; his great nephew, Logan Cochrane; his great niece, Zoey Cochrane and a host of cousins, who will carry on his memory and love him dearly for the rest of their lives. Eddie is preceded in death by his father, Carol E. Stanley, Sr.

His family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a celebration of life on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Ridgeland Baptist Church, 1448 Grays Highway, Ridgeland, SC. The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church at 11:00 a.m.
