Carol Payne Johnston Rowan, 70, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at her home in Bluffton, SC.She was born in Schererville, IN on July 10, 1938. She was the daughter of the late William V. and Mildred Horejs Payne.She was retired from H & R Block where she was the District Manger for thirty years. She enjoyed dancing and living in Sun City and her grandchild. She received her Masters Degree in Economics from UCLA. She attended the Presbyterian Church.She is survived by her husband, Samuel J. Rowan Jr. of Bluffton, SC; one son, Jimmy (Yvette) Johnston of Snellville, GA; one daughter, Sheryl Johnston of Flowery Branch, GA; two stepsons, Chris and Ben Rowan of Athens, GA; one brother, Tom (Shirley) Payne of Indianapolis, IN; one grandchild, Aubrey Johnston of Snellville, GA and one nephew, Aaron (Annette) Payne of Indianapolis, IN.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 18, 2009 in the Sauls Funeral Home Chapel, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC. The family will receive friends from 2 til 4, Friday afternoon, April 17, 2009 at the Funeral Home.
