Carol J. Schmidt

Carol J. Schmidt, 91, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at MUSC of Charleston, SC.

Carol was born February 13, 1931 in New Castle, PA to the late Joseph Carl Gilmore and Elinor Jeannette Amon Gilmore. She worked as a registered nurse, where she found joy in helping others. She loved entertaining friends and family; she never knew a stranger. Carol adored spending time outdoors amongst the flowers and listening to music. You could often find her singing and dancing. Her beautiful cross-stitching however, was her claim to fame!

Carol is survived by her son, Greg Jones (Terri) of OH; daughter, Diane Jones of Ridgeland; step son, Jimi Moore of TN; step-daughter, Luanne Moore of KS; grandchildren, Sean Jones (Chantelle), Cody Jones, Carli Jones, and Sarah Jones Hensley (Craig); and numerous other family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael J. Jones; granddaughter, Melissa A. Jones; husbands, G. Fred Moore and Harry Schmidt; and sisters, Vivian Hoye and Shirley Morris.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Sauls Funeral Home Chapel, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland. A celebration of life will follow the service at M&J Farms, 1459 Smiths Crossing, Ridgeland.
