Carol Sulak from Bluffton SC, formally from Massachusetts, died peacefully in her sleep on April 16, 2021.
Carol was born in Boston Massachusetts on September 28, 1939 to Bridie and Jeremiah Maloney. Being Irish Catholic her parents met the minimum standard and had six children. She attended Cardinal Cushing Central High in South Boston. Soon after graduating high school Carol met the love of her life, Jerry, a nice Czechoslovakian boy from Ohio who was in the Navy. Not exactly what her family envisioned but the heart gets what the heart wants. Together they raised four beautiful, charismatic, intelligent children, to whom Carol made sure to pass her sense of humor onto. Carol spent most of her time working in the social services sector as an administrative assistant.
Carol and Jerry moved to Bluffton, South Carolina when their first grandchild was born. From this point forward Carol never made another decision that did not always put her grandchildren, or as she referred to them, God's gift to this world, first. Carol loved and adored her grandchildren endlessly and her own children relative to how clean and well dressed they were. Carol led a very busy life when she moved to South Carolina spending endless hours giving back to this community. She loved volunteering at God's Goods and spending time with her fellow volunteers, or as I refer to them as, “her gang”. There are too many stories with this group of mischievous, loving, caring women to share. Thank you ladies for loving her and bringing her such joy. And thank you for letting cooler heads prevail and not storming the Bluffton Police Department over a members parking ticket.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband Gerry; her parents; her siblings, Joe, Sonny, Marie, TD and Kathy; and her granddaughter, Grace. She is survived by her children, Janet Sulak-Mehlinger, Cynthia Sulak, David Sulak and Kristen Sulak. She leaves an amazing legacy of grandchildren, Kristen, Priscilla, Dominic, Victoria, Elizabeth, Charles, Matthew and Faith, who have brought her joy and peace and could do no wrong, and one great grandchild, Theodore from Texas.
