Carolyn Jane Benton

Carolyn Jane Benton, 71, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Hilton Head Hospital in Hilton Head Island, SC. She was born in Pageland, SC on October 06, 1942 to the late Jesse Burdine Pigg and Mildred Presson Pigg. She did food displays and demonstrations at Kroger, Publix and Walmart. She was a member of Red Dam Baptist Church and she loved gardening and her dogs. She is survived by her husband, William E. Benton, Sr. of Hardeeville, SC; sons, James Gurley (Alison) of Maine; William E. Benton, Jr. of Garden City, GA; daughters, Greggie J. Mull (Mark) of Monroe, NC; Jane T'lane Benton and Julie Benton Barnes, both of Rincon, GA; brother, James Wayne Pigg (Rachel) of Charlotte, NC; sister, Brenda Elaine Bergna of Hilton Head Island, SC; grandchildren, Jade Gurley, Brandon Mull and Stephen Mull.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 08, 2014 at Red Dam Baptist Church in Hardeeville with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the hour of service at the church.
