Carolyn Ann Todd

Carolyn Ann Todd 12/29/43-3/12/15 Carolyn Ann (nee Glass) Todd was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas along with her twin sister Evelyn (nee Glass) Burns. She was the daughter of a union between Herman Glass and Dorothy Thomas. She and her sister were the oldest of nine children from the union between Dorothy and Willie Thomas, Sr. She graduated from Cass Technical High School in Detroit and went to Cottage Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse and soon after worked many years as a pediatric nurse. She met and married Isaiah Todd while he was a trainee on the same delivery ward. From that union there were two daughters, Sheri Lynn Foote (Marcus) of Hazel Crest, IL, and Karen Marie Bates (Michael) of Southfield, MI. Carolyn worked and retired from the City of Detroit as a Visiting Nurse for Children with Special Needs providing valuable services and assistance to children born with developmental and physical disabilities. When she retired in December of 2003, she and her twin sister, Evelyn started a new chapter in life in Bluffton, South Carolina. She continued with her Catholic faith, became a well-established and devoted member of Saint Gregory the Great where she and her sister Evelyn participated in many prayer circles and enjoyed her church family very much. Carolyn made her transition at the age of 71, on March 12, 2015. In addition to her parents and stepfather, her younger sister Terri Thomas transitioned before Carolyn. She leaves behind her daughters Sheri Lynn Foote (Marcus) and Karen Marie Bates (Michael). She also leaves behind her brothers Willie Thomas II (Florest), Anthony Thomas (Eileen), Kenneth Thomas, Michael Thomas, and Steven Thomas (Toni), and her two sisters (twin) Evelyn Burns and Linda Drummer; her grandsons Troy Coley, Jr., Jonathan Key, and Kyle Bates, and her granddaughter Ashley Key, and children of her twin sister and hosts of other loving family members that will remember her as a loving mother, sister, and devout Catholic.
