Carrie Epps Patterson Collier

Mrs. Carrie Epps Patterson Collier, 101, of Methodist Oaks died Friday, January 28, 2011.Mrs. Collier was born August 24, 1909, in Hardeeville, SC, a daughter of the late Darling Peeples Patterson and Carrie Gahagan Patterson. She was the widow of Eusebius Davis Simpson Collier of Haddonfield, NJ.She attended Sacred Heart Academy in Greenwood and was a graduate of Hardeeville High School. She graduated from Draughn's Business School in Savannah, GA. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hardeeville for 75 years. She served on The Friends of the Library and was a charter member of the Beaufort Chapter of the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century.Survivors include three step daughters, Jean Collier Parks of Collinswood, NJ; Janet Collier Durgin of Orangeburg, SC and Helene Martha (Bill) Cannon of Haddonfield, NJ; nine step grandchildren, twenty one step great grandchildren and twenty one great, great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Patterson Davis of Clearwater, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Darling Peeples Patterson, Jr., Hayes Hardee Patterson and John Gahagan Patterson; a sister, Lynn Patterson Chapman, a stepson, William Davis Collier and a grandson, Edmund Davis Durgin, Sr. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Monday, February 7, 2011 at St. Anthony
