Carrie E. Travis

Mrs. Carrie Elizabeth Travis, 92, of Ridgeland, SC, wife of Rexford Alvin Travis, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center, Savannah, GA.

Mrs. Travis was born on August 4, 1925 in Ridgeland, SC to the late William Cooler and Bertha Terry Cooler. She was a graduate of the Spartanburg General School of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse. Mrs. Travis was a member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church of Pooler, GA and loved fishing and gardening.

In addition to her husband of 70 years, Mrs. Travis is survived by her son, Terry G. Travis (Virginia) of Richmond Hill, GA; daughter, Sandy Hunter (Robert) of Murphy, NC; grandchildren, April Travis, Terry Travis, Jr., Elizabeth Green, Matthew Bailey, Paul Landry, and Sharon Landry, and sisters-in-law, Emma Cooler, Dot Cooler, and Grace Cooler, all of Ridgeland. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Regina Butterworth, brothers, William Cooler, J.P. Cooler, George Cooler, and Marion Cooler, and sister, Hattie Cooler Boulware.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Sauls Funeral Home Chapel, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland with burial to follow at Ridgeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am until the hour of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Risen Savior Christian Academy, 1755 Quacco Rd. Pooler, GA 31322.
