Cathy was born November 20, 1947 in Parsons, KS, the daughter of the late John E. Daley and Mary Catherine Altepeter Daley. Following in her fathers footsteps she found a love for tennis in her adolescent years, continuing to enjoy the game her entire life. She was a graduate of Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. She then went on to work for the Lee Co., supplying jeans for her family for many years!

Following their retirement, Cathy and her late husband of 34 years, Dr. William G. “Jerry” Wood, moved to Hilton Head Plantation in 1995 and then ultimately, Belfair Plantation. It was there they both enjoyed golfing and spending time with friends and family. They also enjoyed traveling and scuba diving. Cathy was a member of the Oyster Reef Golf Club, as well as the Belfair Golf Club.

Cathy is survived by her sons, Scott Boyce and Eric Boyce (Ashleigh); daughters, Angie Huber (Klaus) and Julie Wood-Warner (Chris); brothers, Pat Daley (Karen), Dennis Daley (Shelley), and John Daley; eight grandchildren (Taylor, Corbin, Kevin, Madison, Bailey, Abigail, Kaden and Isabella one great-grandchild, Adam and.

A favorite quote of Cathy’s was “Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand – strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO WHAT A RIDE! Please raise a toast to Cathy. She had a great ride!

A private celebration of Cathy’s life will be held in Kansas City at a later date. The family would welcome anyone who would like to attend.
