Charles Richard Bach, 77, of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away at his home on Thursday, April 8, 2010.He was born in Chicago, IL on February 2, 1933. He was the son of the late Carl Charles and Ethel Barth Bach.He was retired Vice President of Sales for The Kirsch Company. He was a member of the Moss Creek Golf Club. He enjoyed golf and his favorite pets, Sammy and Sadie. He was a friend to all and loved his grandchildren. He was a US Army Veteran.He is survived by his wife, Sally L. Sager-Bach of Hilton Head Island, SC; one son, Karl (Catherine) Bach of Falls Church, VA; one daughter, Katherine Ann (Todd) Gentes of Meriden, CT; one step son, Clarke Sager of Hoboken, NJ; one sister, Betty Ruth (Dennis) Burke of Bluffton, SC; five grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca, and Renee Gentes and Lauren and Charlotte Bach; and nephews, Michael and John Burke. He was predeceased by his nephew, Terry Burke.A "Celebration of Life" will be held in Moss Creek on May 6th, beginning with a nine-hole golf event in Charlie's honor. The golfing will be a shotgun start at 3:00PM at the Moss Creek Golf Club, for those who wish to participate. The men will play as "The Red Barons" (from the red tees!), and the ladies will play as "Charlie's Angels". Sign up at the pro shop, or call Bill John 837-4333, or Peyton McLamb 837-6748. At 6:00 PM there will be a short memorial service at the Bostwick Pavilion, followed by a party featuring entertainment. Please dress casually as there will be dancing! A small h'ors d'ouevre to share would be appreciated, but is not necessary. A second celebration will be held in New Canaan, CT at the home of Charlie's nephew, John Burke. This is tentatively scheduled for July 3rd. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC is assisting the family with their arrangements. (www.saulsfh.com)
