Charles Jacques Barbarossa

Charles Jacques Barbarossa, 65, of Bluffton, SC passed away Friday, September 4, 2009 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort, SC.He was born December 2, 1943 in France, the son of the late Amede and Sophie Magdziaiek Barbarossa.He was a member of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church. He was a meat cutter for Food Lion. He enjoyed fishing and his grandchildren and loved football and soccer. He was a veteran of the French Army where he served for two years. He is survived by his wife Joan Barbarossa of Bluffton, SC; three sons, Martin (Lisa) McMahon of Blacksburg, VA, James (Jeanine) McMahon of Bluffton, SC and Shawn (Lisa) McMahon of Berlin, VA; two daughters, Helen (Phillip) Taylor of Rock Hill, SC and Lisa (Scott) Woodlief of Sterling, VA; four brothers, three sisters and thirteen grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother.The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2009.The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until the hour of the service on Tuesday.The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 59 Pope Avenue, Suite 101, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC is assisting the family with their arrangements.
