Charles J Boyer

Charles J. Boyer, husband of Theresa (Terry) Boyer passed away on October 28, 2019 at NHC  Healthcare in Bluffton.  He was born in NYC on January 31, 1933 to Charles and Mildred.  He was a veteran serving in the US Army and attended NY University. Charles enjoyed a successful career in telecommunications with NY Telephone/Verizon until his retirement in 1990.  In 1993 he and Terry moved from Bethpage, NY, to Rose Hill in Bluffton.

An avid sports enthusiast he was a devoted baseball and basketball coach to all three of his boys and even after they grew up he continued coaching in the CYO athletic program.  As a fan he rooted for the NY Giants and the NY Rangers.  But in baseball his allegiance was with the St Louis Cardinals.  He also had a passion for golf and had two holes in one after retirement to Bluffton.

Mr. Boyer is survived by his wife of 38 years, Theresa Russo-Alesi Boyer; his sons Charles Boyer (Sharon) of Brooklyn NY, Daniel Boyer (Michelle) of South Burlington, VT, and Robert Boyer (Catherine) of Bethpage, NY.  He was the very proud grandfather of Thomas, Sean, Emily and Meagan.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church at 10:30 am, Friday, November 8, 2019.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
