Charles W. Browning

Charles W. Browning, 84 of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011 in the Coastal Carolina Medical Center, Hardeeville, SC. He was born in Louisville, KY on October 12, 1926. He was the son of the late John Garrel and Mayme Welborn Browning.He was a retired Comptroller for Ford Motor Company. He was a United State Marine Corps veteran who was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received at Iwo Jima.He is survived by his wife, Mary Jeanette Lell Browning of Hilton Head Island, SC; one son, Charles W. (Chuck) Browning Jr. (Tina Webb) of Bluffton; three daughters, Carol Hargreaves (Dave) of Ocala, FL, Constance Cole (Jonathan) of Ridgeland, SC and Cindy Brett of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Melissa Wolthoff, Bethany Olson, Joshua Hargreaves, Jennifer Theuerkauf, Jonathan Brett, Chelsey Webb, Joseph Webb and Nicole Cibelli; great grandchildren, Collin Wolthoff, Olivia Wolthoff, Hannah Summers, Emma Summers, Nicholas Olson and Robbie Theuerkauf. He was predeceased by his sister, Juanita Westfall.
