Charles Earl Burton, 86, of Bluffton, SC passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at his home.He was born in Louisville, KY on August 31, 1922. He was the son of the late William E. and Edith Berry Burton.He was the owner of Burton Insurance Agency of Louisville, KY. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and a Korean Veteran. He was a member of the Progress Masonic Lodge #932 of Louisville, KY. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Past Worthy Grand Patron for the State of Kentucky. He was a member of the Buechel Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.He is survived by his wife, Jean C. Burton of Bluffton, SC; one daughter, Wanda (Robert) Heckman of Bluffton, SC; one brother, William L. Burton of Louisville, KY and one sister, Thelma Spiegelberg of Silver Springs, MD.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, February 2, 2009 in the Sauls Funeral Home Chapel, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC with burial in the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC.
