Charles (Chuck) Duane Harbison, 76, of Yemassee, SC, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA after many years and many illnesses that he overcame even when the odds were stacked against him. He was born on December 18, 1947 to the late James Henry Harbison and Eula Lee Harbison and grew up in Charleston, SC. Chuck was a master carpenter that installed kitchen countertops and cabinets where he opened his own business in Jacksonville, FL and finished his career in the Hilton Head/Bluffton SC area. Heaven gained a new Angel and we are happy to know he will be catching spot tail bass and blue crabs in the sky. Chuck was an avid fisherman and loved anything to do with the water. He also loved to play and watch golf in his spare time, as well as bowling in a league for many years with countless perfect scores. You could always find him in the kitchen cooking something up as he loved to cook and entertain for his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betsy Harbison, brother James (Jimmy) Harbison, Jr., daughter Cynthia (Cindy) Blanton (Jason) of Ooltewah, TN, Son Charles Duane Harbison, Jr. (Angie) of Bluffton, SC, daughter Elizabeth Kennedy (Brian) of Richmond Hill, GA, granddaughters Kristin Rogers and Evelyn Kennedy, grandsons Joshua (Josh) Harbison and Charles (Chaz) Harbison III, great granddaughter Isabella (Bella) Rogers.
Our family appreciates the outstanding care provided by Memorial Health University Medical Center, and more specifically Dr.Taylor and the nurses of the cardiovascular step down unit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to express condolences to a grieving widow would be appreciated, details for giving such gifts may be obtained by reaching out to Elizabeth or other family by phone or social media.
