Charles Hasty Smith, 70, of Early Branch, SC, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.He was born on October 16, 1942 the son of the late Charles and Edna Way Smith.He was a veteran and served in the S.C. National Guard. He was an automobile mechanic. He was a member of the Gillisonville Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing.He is survived by his wife, Lisa Cumbee Smith of Early Branch, SC; 6 sons Charles H. Smith II of Columbus, OH, Alan (Angie) Smith of Ridgeland, SC, Danny (Charity) Smith of Hardeeville, SC, Timmy (April) Smith of Ridgeland, SC, Paul (Melissa) Smith of Grays, SC, and Eddie Smith of Grays, SC; 1 daughter, Alice Smith of Charlotte, NC; 3 brothers, Gene (Mary Ann) Smith of Walterboro, SC, Ray Smith of Grays, SC, and Michael Smith of Grays, SC; 2 sisters, Wanda (Reese) Barton of Orangeburg, SC and Brenda (David) Barton of Coosawhatchie, SC; 17 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.A visitation will be held from 6 til 8 pm, Friday, May 4, 2012 at Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland. A graveside burial will be held at 5pm Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Gillisonville Cemetery.
