Charles A. Hunt, Jr. passed away on January 11, 2025, in Bluffton, SC. He was born December 20, 1942, in Oil City, PA, the son of the late Charles A. and Hazel Myers Hunt.
He was a 1960 graduate of Oil City High School and earned a BS in business administration from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and completed the Public Utility Executive Program from the University of Michigan.
He worked 35 years for National Fuel Gas Company, retiring in 1998. After he retired from National Fuel, he worked part-time for the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce and Bob-O-Link Golf Club and ran an energy consulting business. In addition, he was a tennis instructor, receiving certification from the Professional Tennis Registry and the U.S. National Tennis Academy. He enjoyed tennis, golf, biking, reading, watercolor painting, and researching his ancestry.
He is survived by his daughter Pamela R. Hunt of South Burlington, VT, and friend, Julie Johnston of Bluffton, SC.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Marlene A. (Pillifant) Hunt, a sister Margaret Ann Russo, and his son-in-law, Joseph Cafferky.
Per his request, there will be no service. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm & Carlton Street, Buffalo, NY 14263.
