Charles Porcher Pinckney

Charles Porcher Pinckney, 83 of Bluffton and husband of JoAnn Pinckney passed away on June 21, 2016 at his home. Mr. Pinckney was born in Ridgeland, SC on November 6, 1932 to the late deSaussure Edwards Pinckney and Margaret Niver Pinckney. Mr. Pinckney was the owner of Pinckney Heating and Air; US Navy Veteran during the Korean era; a Christian; loved country music; playing and building guitars; loved his family and especially his grandchildren; and a big fan of banana pudding. In addition to his wife, Mr. Pinckney is survived by his children, James Porcher Pinckney (Kimberley) of Summerville, SC, Charles Porcher Pinckney Jr. (Eve) of Moncks Corner, SC and Carolyn Watts (David) of Hardeeville, SC; his brother, William Wadsworth Pinckney of Bluffton, SC; his sisters, Judith Altman of Okatie, SC and Mary Chancey of Allendale, SC; his grandchildren, Seth, Caleb, David Jr., Sean, Andrew, Guy, Amber, Charles, Haley, Sarah, Anna and Emily. He was predeceased by his sons, Guy Pinckney and his wife, Michelle and William Alfred Pinckney; his brothers, deSaussure Pinckney and Thomas Pinckney. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton with burial in Grahamville Cemetery, Ridgeland. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm until the hour of the service.
