Charles K. Rogers

Charles K. Rogers, age 74, of Bluffton, SC passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte M. Rogers. He was the son of the late Charles and Irene (Oliveira) Rogers of Riverside, RI. He had lived in Bluffton for 9 years formerly residing in Smithfield, RI. Mr. Rogers started his career in education teaching at Smithfield High School, then South Attleboro Middle School, he taught and later became Principal of the Rhode Island Training School for Boys. He co-owned the Hall Institute of Technology from 1972 to 1993, before retiring he worked as an Assistant to the President of New England Institute of Technology. Mr. Rogers finished his teaching career by being a substitute elementary school teacher in Beaufort County. His greatest joy was teaching children of all ages. He was past president of the Smithfield Lions Club and the Roger Williams Kiwanis Club, he was also a volunteer at Bluffton Self Help for 4 ½ years. Besides his wife of 52 years, he leaves a daughter Debra and her husband Thomas Howard II, two sons Timothy J. Rogers and his wife Suzanne, Christopher C. Rogers and his wife Terri. He also leaves four grandsons, Christopher Rogers II, Daniel Rogers, Thomas Howard III, Nicholas Howard, and two granddaughters Maritza and Tiffany Howard, and a sister Donna Ferreira and her husband John, of Winder, GA. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bluffton Self Help in his name.
