Dr. Charles Paul Sizemore

Dr. Charles Paul Sizemore (b. June 3,1940) of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Hilton Head Medical Center. He is survived by his beloved wife Jean Woods Sizemore, his son Charles Paul Sizemore Jr. (Christina) of Keller, Texas, and his daughter Rebekka Rae Sizemore of Athens, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Autho D and Kathrine Philpot Sizemore, of London, Kentucky.

Paul was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a field surgeon. Throughout his medical career, he earned degrees in Internal Medicine and Cardiology from the University of Kentucky and the University of Texas, Galveston. Later, he acquired certifications in Trauma and Occupational Medicine. He practiced medicine from 1970 until his retirement in 2010.

Paul enjoyed playing golf, boating, poker, and fishing. He also enjoyed watching old westerns, college basketball, particularly the UK Wildcats, and Georgia University football.

The viewing is at Saul’s Funeral Home in Bluffton SC from 9:30 – 11:30 am Wednesday, March 19, 2025, and graveside services will be held at the Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC at 1:00 pm.
