Charles D. Smith

Charles Donald "Donnie" Smith, 69, of Bluffton, SC passed away on January 15, 2014. He was born in Savannah, GA on November 17, 1944 and was preceded in death by his parents Elmer "Pops" H. Smith Sr. and Georgia Magann Smith and his brothers Elmer "Jack" Smith, Jr. and Albert "Butch" Smith of Bluffton, SC. He was well known for fishing, hunting and especially for being on the ball fields of the Low Country. He is survived by his three sons, William "Justin" Smith (Jordan) and Brent Smith of Bluffton, and Charlie Smith of Savannah. Also surviving him are his sister LaVerne Dickinson (Robert) of Myrtle Beach, his nieces Leigh Smith of Bluffton, Danna Smith (Jay Mccarthy) of Brevard, NC, Angie Hegi (Tim) of Myrtle Beach, Tanya Sapp (Mark) of Augusta, GA, and his nephew Robert Dickinson, Jr (Vicky) of Augusta, GA. He has four grandchildren, Kayden and Kolton Smith of Bluffton, Kyle Smith and Candice Redfern of Savannah, GA. He will be cremated at Sauls Funeral Home, Bluffton, SC and the family will have a private celebration of life.
