Charles “Chuck” Travis Crockett

Charles “Chuck” Travis Crockett of NHC, Okatie, SC, died Friday, August 10, 2018. He was born, December 20, 1928, in Frederick, OK and was the son of the late James and Mary McClelland Crockett. He and his wife moved to Sun City-Hilton Head in 2008 after living in Lexington, KY for 28 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957. He was employed by Firestone and Cobre Tire in sales in the industry of mining and construction and became Vice President of Sales in the Eastern division. Chuck is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha Comer Crockett, daughter, Diana Crockett Korinek, son-in-law Kurt Korinek of Hilton Head Island, SC and a grandson he adored, Skyler Korinek of Hilton Head Island, SC. He is predeceased by brothers Truman Crockett, Ted Crockett and sister Maxine Gossett. Most notably, he was an avid story teller and loved to play practical jokes. He brightened everyone’s lives with whom he met with his stories. He loved vegetable gardening, woodworking and was a “Mr. Fix-it”. He also made the best biscuits and gravy! Sauls Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of funeral services which will be private. Donations may be made to Tidewater Hospice Bluffton or to a Humane Society or Animal Rescue center of your choice.
