Charles (Chuck) Joseph Winterroth, 63, of Bluffton passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Chuck was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 25, 1949. He was the son of Edward and Florence Winterroth of Clearwater, Florida.
He served in the U.S. Navy on tour in Vietnam on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger. He retired in 2004 as the GM and Group Chief Administration Officer of Wild Group Management AG headquartered in Heidelberg, Germany. Before that, he worked for twenty years at Kraft Foods as the Managing Director, Finance of Middle East, Africa and Turkey, including international assignments in Mexico, England and Switzerland.
Upon retirement, he and his family moved to Bluffton, where he enjoyed golfing at every opportunity. Chuck was also a volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club of Bluffton and was the head of the Finance Committee at Berkeley Hall Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Winterroth of Bluffton; his two sons, Matthew Winterroth of Hoboken, NJ and Benjamin Winterroth of Washington, DC; mother Florence Winterroth of Clearwater, FL; and sister Carol Reece of Aurora, CO.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, June 13 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton.
Funeral services will be held at Sauls Funeral Home on Friday, June 14 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to The Brady Urological Institute at Johns Hopkins University, 600 N. Wolfe Street, Marburg 135, Baltimore MD 21287-2101 (http://goo.gl/U0o0F) in memory of Charles Winterroth.
