Christie Calvin (Chris) Maile

Christie (Chris) Calvin Maile, 73, died on January 10th, 2014 in Bluffton, S.C. Christie was born on October 1st, 1940 in Villa Rica, Georgia to Christie Calvin Maile and Margaret Huffine Maile. Christie was raised in Douglasville, GA and then later lived in Marietta, GA and Greenville, SC. Christie loved and lived in Mazatlan, Sinaloa in Mexico from 1998 to 2011. Christie was a 1962 graduate of Emory University Business School where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. After beginning his professional career with Lockheed Aircraft, he joined Builder Marts of America in Greenville, SC where he designed the first point of sale computer system in the building supply industry. He later became the top producing salesperson in BMA's computer division before going into business for himself. Christie was known for his optimism and playful, positive attitude in all things. He was loved and liked wherever he lived and worked. Christie loved softball, golf, tennis and games. Christie also loved the Varsity, BBQ and seafood; especially oysters. Christie is preceded in death by his wife Susan Anne Maile. He is survived by the children of his marriage to Ilma Lynn Maile; Jeff (Leah) Maile of Alpharetta, GA; Christina (Bob) Miller of Dacula, GA and his grandchildren Christian Maile and Cameron Miller. There will be a funeral service held is in his honor at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 16th at the Church of the Redeemer - Episcopal, 120 Mauldin Road, in Greenville SC with reception to follow.
