Christopher Michael King, age 19, of Columbia, SC and formerly of Marietta, GA passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Christopher was born on April 27, 1997 in Marietta, GA. He was a 2015 graduate of Lassiter High School where he was active with the marching band. He was currently studying electrical engineering at the University of South Carolina where he was active with the Capstone Scholars. He was a former Boy Scout with Troop 714 and a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church in Marietta. Christopher is survived by his parents, Amy & Mike King of Bluffton, SC; sister, Emily King of Atlanta, GA; brother, Johnny King of Atlanta, GA; maternal grandmother, Margaret Hunter of Gallatin, TN; aunts & uncles, Donna & Ben Martin of Brooklet, GA, Jim & Betsy Hunter of Gallatin, TN, Cathy Hunter of Gallatin, TN, and Mary Belle Hunter of Murfreesboro, TN; as well as many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles & Margie King and his maternal grandfather, James Hunter. A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910 with burial following at Lowcountry Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2016 in Marietta Georgia at Mountain View United Methodist Church, 2300 Jamerson Road, Marietta, GA 30066.
