Christopher “Chris” Rosa, 69 of Sun City, Hilton Head, South Carolina, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at his home. He was born January 28, 1947, in Latrobe, a son of the late Rudolph J. Rosa and Anne L. DeFlavio Rosa. After graduating from Latrobe High School in 1965, Chris worked at Vanadium Alloy Steel Co. before enlisting in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman assigned to the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, for which he received several commendations. During his life he owned and operated several pizza businesses. He was an avid football fan, had a passion for cars, playing the guitar and singing. Among his joys were making pizza for family and friends, shopping and staying on top the latest electronic tech devices. He most enjoyed traveling in the motorhome throughout the U.S. with his partner, Glenda, and their cats. Chris was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bluffton, South Carolina and a former member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Derry, where he participated in volunteer activities such as helping to organize church luncheons and assisting church members to their doctors’ appointments. Chris is survived by his partner of 22 years, Glenda (Maury) Mascia; sons, Christopher Jr., granddaughter Mikaela, and Robert and wife Kathy, grandsons Rudy and Kai, daughter Lynella Rosa Saenz and husband Mario, grandchildren Abbigale and Nathaniel, all of Yucaipa, California and daughter Taylor Rosa of Durham, North Carolina; siblings, Rudolph Jr. and wife Stacey, Marilyn Struble (Jim Brewer) and Nicholas (Michelle Hall), all of Latrobe; Keith, Kevin and Kent, Glenda’s sons, along with many neighbors, friends and his beloved furry felines, Foxy and Lily. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 101 West Fourth Avenue, Derry, PA 15627. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Action for Animals.
