Clara Gazzo Labella

Age 98, Clara died peacefully with her family at her side on April 24, 2025.  She was born August 19, 1926, in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of Benito (Ben) and Antoinette (Annie) Gazzo.

Clara grew up in the Brushton section of Pittsburgh surrounded by uncles, aunts and cousins, many of the cousins sharing the same first name.  There were several Nick’s which was her brother’s name, and several Clara’s.  Everyone knew them as Nick or Clara number X depending on the house they lived in!

After high school, she contributed to the war effort by working at Mine Safety assembling goggles for the soldiers.  Later, she became a homemaker.  She was an extraordinary cook and housekeeper.  She later resided in Bluffton, SC with her daughter and son-in-law.

Clara was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband, Dominic in 1999, her brother Nick and her parents.  She is survived by her loving children Ron (Joyce) LaBella and Tonette (Bob) Kline, her grandchildren Elizabeth (Justin) Whittmore, and Jarod (Kristin), David (April) and Stacy (Kendall) Kline.  Also survived by her four great grandchildren, Reagan Brunswick, and Jack, Cameron and Elloise Kline.

As Clara wished, there will be no funeral home service.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be on May 8, 2025, at 10:00 in Sacred Heart Church, St. Jude Parish, 310 Shady Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206.  She will be laid to rest at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Penn Hills.
