Claude A. Hair

Claude Adrian Hair was born August 20, 1939 in Ridgeland, S.C to Claude Layton Hair and Ethel Nettles Twitty. He died at home on August 23, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Brantley Hair and son, Adrian Brantley Hair of Johns Island, S.C.; two sisters, Faye Hair Jones and Kathy Twitty Goen both of Ridgeland; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Paul Wyman Hair.

After graduating from Ridgeland High School, Claude joined the US Coast Guard. His professional interest was always in law enforcement. He first was with the SC Highway Patrol followed by the Alcoholic Beverage Control with the majority of his 40 plus years in law enforcement with South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). where he was Captain over his district. He loved anything to do with the river, including shrimping, fishing, and boating. He was also an active member and past Commodore of the Charleston Yacht Club. His hobbies included building/repairing anything, as well as gardening. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Johns Parish Church, 1811 Paulette Drive Johns Island, S.C. 29455 or Boys Town, 13940 Gufowsld Road, Boys Town, NE 68010. 

Arrangements are to be announced. Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family.
