Clayton "Badese" Devore, Jr.

Clayton “Badese” DeVore, Jr., 83, of Pineland, SC passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at his home.

Badese was born January 31, 1937 in Ridgeland, SC to the late Clayton B. DeVore, Sr. and Louise Woods. He was a retired Palmetto Electric employee; enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a member and deacon at Gillison Branch Baptist Church, as well as a trustee in the church. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all.

Badese is survived by his sons, Eric DeVore (Vivian) of Hardeeville, SC and Paul DeVore (Margaret) of Columbia, SC; daughters, Beverly DeVore Jones of Pineland, SC, Magalene DeVore of Hardeeville, SC, and Betty Ann DeVore of Pineland, SC; brother, John DeVore (Annie) of Pineland, SC; sisters, Gladys Frazier of Bluffton, SC, Barbara Stevenson (Donnie) of Columbia, SC, and Priscilla Bryan of Savannah, GA; sister-in-law, Mary Solomon; special friend, Mary Frazier; special son-in-law, Louis Rivers; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mae Solomon DeVore; his son, Adolph DeVore; daughters, Debra DeVore, Brenda Larry, and Brittany DeVore; brother, Cephus DeVore; and sisters, Miriam DeVore and Mary Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Gillison Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 pm—7:00 pm, Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland.
