Clayton Lazarus Orum

Clayton Lazarus Orum, age 35 of Ridgeland, SC passed away on March 25, 2020.  Clayton loved his family.  He was one of those people who never met a stranger.  Always helping someone else before himself even if he didn’t receive anything but a blessing in return.  Clayton lived his life to the fullest no matter the pain, trials and tribulations he was enduring.  He was always there for his true friends and family even when he himself was having a hard time.

Clayton enjoyed cooking, remodeling, meeting new people, children’s baseball games and sports in general.  He never sat still and was always into something to keep himself busy.  Clayton was known to many as ‘Clay’ or ‘Clay Cole’.

On April 12, 1984 he was born in Brooklyn, New York to Beverly Orum and Lazarus Gadson. His family moved back to South Carolina when he was a little boy.  Clayton moved around a lot but always referred to Hilton Head as home since he spent a good bit of his childhood there.

As years passed, Clayton became an uncle to Ny Jae King, Nygel King and Rasheem King. He was the father of Clayton Lazarus Orum Jr. ‘CJ’. Ny Jae made him a great uncle to Shawn Wilson Jr. ‘SJ’. He later became a husband and stepfather.

Clayton leaves behind to cherish and remember the good times, his wife, Brandi Miles Orum; sister, Jasmine Orum (Jamie Simmons) of Ridgeland, SC, Ciare Ellis of Brooklyn, NY; son, Clayton Lazarus Orum Jr. ‘CJ’ of Hilton Head; stepchildren, Maxayla Haupt, Ryan Warner, Rileigh Stanley and Peyten Stanley of Ridgeland.  Along with a host of family and friends who he loved dearly in different ways.

Clayton is finally at peace and is resting without feeling hurt or in pain anymore.
