Colleen Dee Marlowe Baldwin

Colleen Dee Marlowe Baldwin, 68, of Bluffton, South Carolina died on October 21, 2014 in Bluffton after a courageous year long battle with lung cancer. Colleen was born on December 16, 1945, the fifth and youngest child of Raymond Willis Marlowe and Pluma Frances Marlowe. She grew up in Kansas City and attended Ruskin High School. Colleen was a hair stylist for over 50 years becoming a Matrix educational advisor and stylist instructor. She truly enjoyed working with clients who became dear friends over the years at salons in Kansas City, The Harem in Springfield, Missouri, the Stockton Clipper which she owned in Stockton, Missouri, Mary Louise's in Walterboro, South Carolina, Tara's Salon and Tammy's Salon on Hilton Head Island, and finally at The Village Spa in Bluffton, South Carolina. Colleen loved her clients and they adored her - as did just about everyone she knew. Beautiful, happy, energetic, vibrant, fun, and friendly, she always had a smile on her face and made everyone around her feel special. People come and go from our lives, but some special people like Colleen, we keep in our hearts forever. She loved, and she was easy to love. Predeceased by her mother and father, sister Nadine Marlowe Driesbach, brother-in-law Robert Driesbach, and brother-in-law Paul Holland, Colleen is survived by her son, Lance Nickel; daughter in law, Shannon Rampton Nickel; daughter, Sarah Nickel Robertson; treasured grandson, Clayton Nickel Robertson; Cindy Fink Nickel Baker; sister, Janet Marlowe Holland; brother, Nelson Marlowe (Donna); sister, Raenita Marlowe Pearson (Robert); many cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
