Collin Francis Mcgovern

Collin Francis “Mac” McGovern (32) passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2023 at Hilton Head Hospital. He is survived by his father, Paul McGovern, his father’s partner Ann Marie Wilkie, his sister Maura and brother Michael, as well as, Ann Marie’s children Ryan and Jenna who Collin considered as siblings. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and the love of his life, Taylor Cooper, and their infant son (18 mos.) Grayson, who Collin adored.  Collin is predeceased by his mother Leslie Constance Devine.

Collin excelled at sports including baseball, roller hockey, and soccer in his youth. He also loved mentoring the younger children in sports. He also loved skiing and snowboarding.

Collin was very handy and tackled any problem without hesitation, from automotive to IT issues; he could fix anything he put his mind to.  Collin chose to be an organ donor, and it is fitting that even in death, he was able to “fix“/save the lives of three others.  Only two percent of organ donor's organs are actually accepted for donation and thankfully, Collin was able to join that select group.

The family would like to thank our extended family and friends for their gracious support in so many different ways. And a special thanks to the staff at Hilton Head Hospital Hospital ICU and Sharing HopeSC, who were very professional, caring and compassionate during this extremely difficult time. A celebration of life will be scheduled for friends and Family shortly in the future.
