Collins James Mccartan

Collins James McCartan, 67 of Bluffton, SC passed away at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort, SC on Friday, September 2, 2016. Mr. McCartan was born in Boston, MA on January 31, 1949 to the late Matthew McCartan and Mary McCarthy McCartan. Mr. McCartan retired after 46 years as Manager with National Grid Utility. He was a US Navy veteran of Vietnam and served aboard the USS America. He was a graduate of Vincentian Institute and College of St. Rose both in Albany, NY. He was an avid hockey fan; pulled for the NY Rangers; loved his sons; traveled extensively to gymnastic events and hockey games. Mr. McCartan is survived by his wife, Debra S. McCartan of Bluffton; his sons, Jonathan D. McCartan and Kyle A. McCartan both of Denver, CO; his sister, Joan Mosca of Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, James Kevin McCartan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton with burial at 1:00 pm on Tuesday in the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC. The family requests memorial donations be made to PruittHealth Hospice, 1605 North St., Beaufort, SC 29902 in memory of Collins James McCartan.
