Conrad Weir Burkman

Conrad Weir Burkman, age 83, of Bluffton, SC died Monday, June 1, 2015 at Bloom of Bluffton. Mr. Burkman was born on February 9, 1932 in Birmingham, MI, the son of the late Nels Weir Burkman and Thelma McKenzie Burkman. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He was a graduate of Michigan State University. He began his career in sales with IBM, continuing with Xerox, and ultimately with Bell and Howell where he retired after many years of service. He was the life of the party and enjoyed everyone he met and made them all feel comfortable. Mr. Burkman was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Angus Burkman. He was her caregiver during her battle with cancer; he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Susan Burkman. He is survived by his son, Bruce Burkman (Alison Conley) of Bluffton, SC as well as his granddaughter, Elizabeth Linda Burkman of Columbus, OH. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Humane Society. Funeral services will be private.
