Constance Rose Giroir

Constance Rose Giroir, nee Hebert, died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Rose Hill Plantation after a courageous battle with cancer on the morning of February 4, 2016, surrounded by family. Known to all as Connie, she was born on November 24, 1933 in Houma, Louisiana. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother, adoring grandmother and also dear friend to many. A passionate and accomplished quilter and seamstress, Connie was also a writer and published two children's books, "Benny's Time To Shine' and 'Mommy, Do You Know: An Adoption Story.' Connie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Oris John; her daughter, Anne-Marie and son-in- law Jamie Galler, grandson Tristan August, and her brother Russell Hebert and his wife Juanita, with many nephews, nieces and their children. Excerpted from one of her poems: 'Just because you are you, Just because I'm just me, Just because the sun will rise and the moon shall follow, Just because the flowers bloom, Just because the birds sing their songs... Just because I truly treasure and love you, Just because I know you love me too, Just because you are you, Just because I'm just me... Mom' In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry http://www.hospicecarelc.org/ The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909.
