Courtney Faith Kolencik, 34, of Hardeeville, SC, formerly of Bowie, MD, was home when she was called to heaven Wednesday AM, January 10, 2024. She fought a long courageous battle with Type 1 Diabetes and Cancer.
She was born November 17, 1989 in Silver Spring, MD, the only daughter of Frank Stephen Kolencik and Cynthia J. Kolencik. Courtney grew up in Great Falls, Virginia and graduated Langley High School. She then went on to study at High Point University in High Point, NC.
Courtney was an All-Star Competitive Cheerleader who later worked with Bruce W. Reyle & Company, Palm Beach Tan, Optimum Sports and Fitness, and was a Contractor at National Council on Disability. She enjoyed sports, University of Maryland Football and Basketball Games, fitness training, traveling, spending time at the beach, shopping, farmers markets, festivals, animals, music, family & friends, and had a love for fashion designer Coco Chanel.
Courtney was beautiful and beloved by those that she knew because of her kindness, concern for others and that radiant smile that lit up a room. She was a fierce competitor and warrior throughout her life’s journey. Courtney will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by Grandparents: Frank S. Kolencik Sr., Pearl Booth, John B. Ammann and Great Grandparents Dessa H. & Charles R. Jones and Pearl Pirl.
In addition to her parents, Courtney is survived by her brothers Frank S. Kolencik III and J. Alexander Kolencik. Grandparent, Dolores (Oma) Kisselbach. Aunts, Michele McMath (Jim), Karen Wallace, Stephanie Busch, Nancy Amman (Bruce Cuff), Jeannie Bennett (Rob) and Uncle, John C. Kolencik. Many special cousins, close friends and loyal Yorkie fur babies Louie, Lexi and Vinnie.
Family and friends may attend visitation from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 31 St. Gregory Dr., Bluffton, with a reception to follow. Burial will then take place at 1:30 pm at Lowcountry Memorial Gardens. The funeral mass will be live streamed at sgg.cc
